Is mindfulness (awareness meditation) and phenomenology the same thing ?

if not what’s the difference?

Taking the what’s said above in account, it must be the same thing.
When you are mindful of sadness for example, you do not condemn it or try to make it go away. That is, you do not identify yourself with your feelings. There are the feelings and there is the spectator - you. At some point you realise that you are not your feelings. You realise that you are pure Mind and the feelings are just clouds that cover it.
Don’t know what the word " phenomenology ‘ means, so can’t answer. but the rest . . . mindfulness, awareness and meditation are in the same family, the ’same thing’. Does the word you stated mean to be outstanding as in phenomenal or a fantastic phenomenon ? If so, than that would be in that group also of awareness and such.
Phenomenology is about "experience" so the phenomenology of depression would be looking at what it’s like for a person to experience depression. It’s a way of knowing rather than a therapy technique. When you’re mindful of something, you are looking at your own experience…
